KnoWEwell® CEO named Top 100 Healthcare Visionary
A visionary is described as a person that plans the future with imagination and wisdom. KnoWEwell, P.B.C. is proud to congratulate its founder and CEO, Kimberly Whittle, as a 2021 recipient of the Top 100 Healthcare Visionaries Award at the International Forum on Advancements in Healthcare (IFAH) Conference at the MGM Grand Hotel in Las Vegas on June 24, 2021.
The IFAH is dedicated to the mission of improving healthcare by facilitating an open dialogue between different industry stakeholders. The three-day Las Vegas conference (June 23th - 25th) brought together 1,000+ healthcare professionals from across the world on a common platform. Participants included startups, hospitals, manufacturers, technology providers, insurers as well as government agencies. All nominees for the award were adjudicated using measurable parameters, including overall reach, industry impact, market demand, and future readiness.
Whittle expressed that she was driven to start KnoWEwell by a series of health challenges in her family that began more than a decade ago. She embarked on a journey to search for solutions.
“I discovered not only solutions, but a new passion for health and well-being, all through a personalized, integrated, Regenerative Whole Health™ approach comprised of natural, integrative health and medicine, functional medicine, and personal lifestyle wellness practices in collaboration with caring practitioners,” says Whittle. “I immersed myself in research, utilized Regenerative Whole Health approaches, collaborated with caring practitioners, joined several nonprofit provider professional organizations, and attended their conferences. I was blessed with tremendous success in the prevention and healing of chronic conditions through a personalized, integrated approach.”
Whittle’s journey was not easy. She vowed to make that journey easier for the next person seeking ways to help their family heal.
It was in 2017 that Whittle took her personal and professional experiences, and health and global market research, and laid out her vision on a whiteboard for a market-leading organization that would transform healthcare. Her intention was to bring all the knowledge, resources, providers, organizations, and businesses together in one centralized, trusted, private, secure online destination, to make it easily accessible to everyone.
“I also wanted to connect our local and global community, to help like-minded individuals interact with each other and caring providers,” says Whittle. “My goal was to improve the mind, body, and spirit of individuals and families so that they, all of humanity, and our precious planet could thrive, not just survive. I have never erased that whiteboard. I check back on it from time to time to be sure I am staying on track.
I feel blessed to have found my life purpose and proud that I have taken my struggles, my passion, my entrepreneurial experiences and turned them into KnoWEwell®.”
When Whittle laid out her vision for KnoWEwell, she says that she wanted it to give back to the nonprofit professional organizations that helped educate and guide her on her health journey and that of her family’s. She also wanted to design KnoWEwell as a role model for using business as a force for good and to make a materially positive impact on humanity and our planet.
“I struggled to find the right words to describe it,” says Whittle. “But I knew that the market leader going forward needed to consider the impacts of its business practices, profits, and the impact on the individual and all stakeholders. I found that a public benefit corporation was the purpose-driven entity form that I was looking for. It requires a company’s board of directors to consider the specific public benefit stated in such company’s certificate of incorporation in making decisions. KnoWEwell’s specific public benefit statement is ‘to inspire and empower individuals with today’s knowledge, resources, and community to proactively prevent harm, address chronic diseases, and create happy, healthy, abundant, purpose-filled living (which it calls WELLthier LivingTM) for themselves, their family, humanity, and the planet.’”
Whittle says she is equally proud of KnoWEwell’s first steps toward obtaining its B Corporation Certification from B Lab and committing to support mission-aligned nonprofits and the charity 1% for the Planet. Certified B Corporations are required to meet high standards of verified social and environmental performance, transparency, and accountability.
Now, KnoWEwell is bridging the knowledge gap between ancient healing wisdom and today’s most current evidenced health and well-being science and technology and raising the consciousness of the connections between our unique personal lifestyle and environmental exposures and the resulting impact on ourselves, humanity, and our planet.
Whittle articulated four ways that KnoWEwell is transforming healthcare: “(1) Reducing long-term healthcare costs by giving consumers the resources they need to take control and make better-informed choices to improve their health and well-being; (2) Facilitating better patient/provider connections through KnoWEwell’s unique matching process and, in turn, improving patient healing success and the job satisfaction of providers; (3) Building unity in the fragmented Regenerative Whole Health market with a business model that rewards collaboration; and (4) Raising the credibility of Regenerative Whole Health approaches and therapies by KnoWEwell’s vetted content and provider members and providing access to evidence-based resources on its platform.”
