A Day of Giving, Fall on the Farm
On Saturday, October 2, 2021, KnoWEwell employees and their families spent a glorious crisp fall day volunteering to help make Rodale Institute’s Fall on the Farm event in Kutztown, Pennsylvania, a roaring success. Rodale Institute is a nonprofit organization dedicated to growing the organic movement through rigorous research, farmer training, and consumer education. Widely recognized as a founder of the modern organic movement, they have been a global leader in regenerative organic agriculture for over 70 years.
Each autumn, Rodale opens its doors to visitors to celebrate the harvest and the changing of the seasons at its 300-acre farm and research facility. There, guests from far and wide enjoy the best part of fall, from fresh apple cider and fresh-cut sunflowers to organic apple picking. The event also features live music, food trucks serving organic wraps and smoothies, wagon tours of the farm, pumpkin decorating, and a fall plant sale.
This year, KnoWEwell volunteers welcomed visitors, provided directions, staffed the art sale booth, assisted with the children’s activities, and operated the ever-popular rotten apple launcher where young and old delighted in firing rotten apples at targets using a giant slingshot.
KnoWEwell Founder and CEO, Kimberly Whittle, commented, "KnoWEwell’s foundation was built on its Five Pillars of Giving. Helping others feeds our soul and provides purpose-filled living. We are deeply committed to the urgent and transformative work that Rodale Institute is leading to improve the health of people and the planet. It was my honor and joy to serve for the day, and I am proud of the contribution our KnoWEwell family provided to Rodale Institute, one of our valued collaborative partners.”
