Workshop: Herbalism on The Farm-Summer Solstice
Come spend the Summer Solstice in the healing, medicinal gardens at Rodale Institute and enjoy learning about the wonder of herbalism.
We will gather under the shaded Pavilion in the heart of the garden and begin our time sharing wisdom and sipping herbal tea infusions made from the plants growing around us. Our tour through the intimate garden will include the medicinal properties of plants such as Calendula, Yarrow, Lemon Balm, St. John’s Wort, Comfrey, Holy Basil, and more!
Following the tour, we will demonstrate how to make a medicinal topical infused oil with St. John’s Wort flowers and Comfrey harvested from the garden. We hope that you will feel inspired to continue incorporating these herbal allies into your own garden and life!
Afterwards, we invite you to join us for a celebratory and ceremonial bonfire in honor of the Summer Solstice. We will discuss the importance of honoring the Solstices & Equinoxes across cultures and how that is tied into agricultural cycles of seeding, tending, and harvesting.
Bring your own blanket so we can all sit together! Space is limited to 50 participants, so please register below to save your spot.
