Sprouting Demonstration with the HMN Cucamonga Valley, CA Chapter
Many centuries ago, Chinese sailors were some of the first to discover the value of sprouted seeds. They would carry mung beans on long ocean voyages, sprouting them throughout their journey and consuming them in sufficient quantities to help prevent scurvy.
Even in the west, our ancestors ate most of their grains in partially germinated form as the grains standing in sheaves and stacks in open fields often began to sprout before being harvested. Unfortunately, modern farming techniques prevent grains from germinating before they reach our tables.
Join us for this workshop as we go over the benefits and methods of sprouting. You’ll see some examples of various sprouted nuts, grains, beans, or seeds and also walk away with healthy recipes. And it wouldn’t be a proper food demonstration without samples! So don’t leave before taste testing some delicious sprouted hummus.
